Nights of Fright opens Friday at Pine Island Multipurpose Center: 20-plus rooms, a $20 scare-free hour from 5 p.m. and full scares to 10 p.m. Five nights, dates inside.
The annual Nights of Fright haunted house opens Friday, Oct. 23, at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center, 3801 S. Pine Island Road. It runs for five nights.
The town announced it in an Oct. 20 news release. It is run with the Friends of the South Florida Cloggers and sponsored by Rick Case Automotive Group, and the proceeds go to the Friends of South Florida Cloggers.
The town describes more than 20 themed rooms with live actors, all indoors and air-conditioned.
The five nights
Each night runs from 5 to 10 p.m.
| Night | Date |
|---|---|
| Friday | Oct. 23 |
| Saturday | Oct. 24 |
| Sunday | Oct. 25 |
| Thursday | Oct. 29 |
| Friday | Oct. 30 |
It is closed Monday through Wednesday, and it does not open on Halloween itself.
Two kinds of ticket
- Not-So-Scary Hour, 5 to 6 p.m.: $20 a person. A walk through all the rooms with no scares, aimed at younger children and anyone who wants the theme without the screams. The town says children can trick-or-treat along the way.
- Full Scare Hours, 6 to 10 p.m.: $35 a person. Live actors and full scares. The town recommends it for adults and children 12 and older; younger children may go at a parent’s or guardian’s discretion.
Tickets are sold in 15-minute arrival slots, and you must arrive inside your slot. The town says day-of tickets are limited. Tickets are on the Nights of Fright ticket page, and group rates are by email through the organizer’s website.
Free to get in the door
The entertainment area outside the rooms is free, and so is parking. From 5 to 10 p.m. each night it has a live DJ, local vendors, food from the “Kreepy Kitchen,” raffles and a silent auction, according to the release.
The town notes that the event website plays a video with flashing lights.
What it means for you
- If you have young children, book the 5 p.m. hour. It is $15 cheaper and has no scares.
- Buy ahead for this weekend. Friday to Sunday are the first three of only five nights, and day-of tickets are limited.
- You can go for the food, music and vendors without a ticket.
- The same building is the pickup point for the town’s veterans meal vouchers through Nov. 8. Our veterans voucher story has the hours.
The town’s free trunk-or-treat is Saturday morning at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Every other Davie Halloween event is on our Halloween events page, and trick-or-treat details are on our trick-or-treat hours page.
