New Horizon United Methodist Church's pumpkin patch on South Flamingo Road closes Saturday. Free to visit, open 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; sales fund missions.
Anyone still hunting for a pumpkin before Halloween has two days left at the New Horizon United Methodist Church pumpkin patch, just west of Davie in Southwest Ranches. The patch closes for the season on Saturday, Oct. 31.
It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Saturday at the church, 5741 S. Flamingo Road, across the street from Countryside Shops, the Publix plaza at Stirling and Flamingo roads. It costs nothing to walk around; the pumpkins are for sale.

Who runs it and where the money goes
Church volunteers run the patch, and every sale supports the church’s missions, the church said. “Every pumpkin supports our missions,” its flyer says, promising “pumpkins of every shape and size.”
The church’s own website lists the patch as open Oct. 10 to 31, and says volunteers greet visitors and sell the pumpkins. It has been asking for more helpers in flexible time slots through an online sign-up sheet, with community service hours available.
