Broward County’s school year ends Friday, May 28, 2027, and Davie’s summer starts the same weekend, when the town’s seasonal pool opens for Memorial Day. Davie has two town pools, a splash pad at Vista View Park, town-backed summer camps and a run of free summer events. Each section below gives the 2026 dates as a guide; we will update them when the 2027 schedules post.

The Pine Island Aquatic Center has a 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool, heated and cooled, with an ADA entry ramp; call 954-327-3926. The Betty Booth Roberts Park pool is a 33-meter by 13-yard competition pool, also heated and cooled; call 954-797-6716.
In 2026 Betty Booth Roberts opened weekends and Memorial Day from May 23, went to seven days a week from June 4 to Aug. 10, then weekends only through its last day, Labor Day, Sept. 7. Daily admission was $1 for seniors, $1.50 for children and $2 for adults. The park around it has a shaded playground, a swing set with an accessible seat, basketball courts and a walking trail.
The town marks National Water Safety Month with a free Water Safety Day and Pool Party at the Pine Island Aquatic Center; in 2026 it was noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, with free swimming and hands-only CPR training from Davie Fire Rescue (2026 announcement).
Splash pad
Vista View Park, 4001 SW 142nd Ave., in western Davie, has a splash pad alongside shaded playgrounds, rolling hills and biking and horse trails. See our parks and trails guide.
Summer camps
- Sunshine Child Programs. The town’s parks department links Sunshine for summer camp and after-school care, and Sunshine lists Town of Davie Recreational Camps among its programs. Recreational camps take kindergarten through seventh grade; most locations run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with campers in by 8:45 a.m. Weekly field trips ride Broward school buses, and recreational campers swim at the YMCA, according to its summer camp page. Sunshine also runs CSC grant-funded camps for K-5.
- Old Davie School Time Travelers Club. Not a camp itself but a 90-minute pioneer-life field trip for camp groups: washboard laundry, a well pump, pioneer games and homemade ice cream. In 2026 it ran Tuesdays to Fridays, June 9 to July 3, for groups of at least 20 (museum page; 954-797-1044).
- Flamingo Gardens hosts summer camp groups with a “Summer Wildlife Adventure” program and a summer exhibit in the gardens (field trips page).

In July the town celebrates National Park and Recreation Month with free classes and activities, including free swimming days in 2025 (2025 announcement).
Lightning
The town has Perry Weather lightning detectors with horns and strobes at Bamford Sports Complex, Betty Booth Roberts Park, Davie Golf Club, Driftwood, Potter, Shenandoah, Waterford and Waverly parks. Six five-second horn blasts mean lightning is near and outdoor activity stops; three short blasts and an “all clear” message mean it is safe to resume.
