Broward County’s spring break is March 22-26, 2027, and with a teacher planning day on Friday, March 19, most students are off for nine days in a row, from March 19 through Sunday, March 28. Easter Sunday falls on the last day. Davie is not a beach town, so spring break here is about camps, parks, the pool and Flamingo Gardens, whose orchid show lands on the final weekend.

Camps

Sunshine Child Programs, the Broward nonprofit that the Town of Davie’s parks department links for summer camp and after-school care, runs camps on teacher planning days, winter break, spring break and through the summer. Its spring camp page says camp days are full-day programs with sports, shows and special activities, with off-campus field trips at extra cost; the 2027 flyer is posted there. Most Sunshine locations are open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and its recreational camps take kindergarten through seventh grade, according to its camp FAQ.

Flamingo Gardens, 3750 S. Flamingo Road, is open daily 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last entry at 4 p.m. Its 2027 events timeline lists two dates in spring break week:

  • Panther Conservation Day, Saturday, March 20
  • 45th International Orchid and Bromeliad Show, Friday to Sunday, March 26-28

Parks and trails. Tree Tops Park’s boardwalk, the hills at Vista View Park and the town’s multi-use trails are all free; see walking and biking trails and free things to do. Town parks are open 9 a.m. to sunset.

The pool. The town’s Pine Island Aquatic Center, 3800 SW 92nd Ave., is open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends (town pool hours). Call 954-327-3926 for lap and open swim times.

Town events. In 2026 the town’s spring calendar included a free Sounds of the Town concert on a Friday in March and the Hippity Hoppity Egg Hunt in early April (concert series, egg hunt). The 2027 dates are not out yet.

The district’s calendar lists spring break week as “schools closed” but does not list its administrative offices as closed, as it does for Thanksgiving and winter break. Town parks keep their usual 9 a.m. to sunset hours.
