Father’s Day 2027 is Sunday, June 20. Davie’s signature Father’s Day weekend event is already on the calendar: the Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Davie Arena. Beyond that, the town owns a public golf course, its parks have fishing lakes, and Sunday brunch runs until 3 p.m. on University Drive.

What this means for you

  • Rodeo: buy tickets from the rodeo’s own ticket page or its authorized seller; the town warns that third-party resale tickets are not accepted.
  • Golf: book Davie Golf Club tee times online or at 954-797-4653.
  • Lightning: town parks with detectors sound six five-second horn blasts when it is close; see summer in Davie.

The rodeo

The Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo is a sanctioned PRCA rodeo at the Davie Arena at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, 4201 SW 65th Way, in the town’s Western-themed downtown. Its schedule lists 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2027; in 2026 the June show was on June 20, the Saturday before that Father’s Day. The rodeo says it was voted the No. 1 rodeo in Florida in 2010 and named the best rodeo in North America in the USA Today 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards.

For the Orange Blossom Rodeo in 2026, the town told buyers to purchase only through davieprorodeo.com or the authorized seller, Grif’s Western, because tickets from third-party resellers would not be accepted (town announcement).

Golf

Davie Golf Club, 8201 Nova Drive, has been owned by the Town of Davie since 2011 and calls itself the only public golf course in Davie. Its site says the greens were renovated and reopened in fall 2024, with new carts and a redesigned hole 6 (now a par 3) and hole 13 (now a par 5). Book a tee time or call 954-797-4653.

Fishing

Several town parks have fishing, open 9 a.m. to sunset:

  • Wolf Lake Park, 5400 SW 76th Ave.: a 50-acre park around a central lake with many fishing spots, a shaded multipurpose trail, and canoes and non-motorized boats allowed; no swimming (town trail page).
  • Silver Lake Park, 5695 SW 52nd Ave.: a 40-acre passive park with fishing and trails (town facility page).
  • Sunny Lake Bird Sanctuary, 5300 Griffin Road: fishing, a walking track and an exercise trail (town facility page).

A Florida freshwater fishing license may be required; check with the state wildlife commission at myfwc.com.
