The southbound I-75 exit to Royal Palm Boulevard closes the night of Oct. 22, and westbound I-595 loses lanes most nights to Nov. 1. Every FDOT job in Davie.

Last checked Oct. 19, 2026. Updated weekly. Sources: FDOT District 4’s Broward County traffic report for Oct. 16 to 23, FDOT’s Oct. 15 traffic impact report, published by the Town of Davie, FDOT’s District 4 project pages and the Town of Davie’s news page.

The full closure to plan around this week is the southbound I-75 exit ramp to westbound Royal Palm Boulevard, shut from 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, to 5 a.m. Friday. Most nights through Nov. 1, FDOT is also closing lanes on westbound I-595 between Davie Road and SW 136th Avenue to repave and restripe the interstate, and eastbound I-595 between SW 136th Avenue and Flamingo Road is down to one lane at night through Friday, Oct. 23. The longer job is on University Drive at I-595, where FDOT is adding a lane for drivers heading north onto westbound I-595. Interstates, the Turnpike and the numbered state roads (University Drive, State Road 84, State Road 7, Griffin Road) belong to the state; the town looks after its own streets and posts its own closures.

I-75 at Royal Palm Boulevard

FDOT is widening I-75 and its ramps at Royal Palm Boulevard and Griffin Road, on Davie’s western edge with Southwest Ranches and Weston. One lane of I-75 between Griffin Road and SW 14th Street, and one lane of Royal Palm Boulevard at I-75, may close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.

  • Detour: take the I-75 exit to westbound Griffin Road, go north on Weston Road, then west on Royal Palm Boulevard. FDOT said signs will mark the route.
  • Cost: $36.2 million, according to FDOT’s Oct. 16 report.

University Drive at I-595

FDOT’s University Drive project started in March 2026. Crews are widening northbound University Drive to add an auxiliary lane onto the westbound I-595 entrance ramp, moving signal mast arms, replacing an overhead sign, upgrading drainage, putting in LED lighting and replacing the bus shelters on the northbound side. FDOT puts the cost at $6.85 million.

This week: one northbound lane, from south of SW 24th Street/Nova Drive to the I-595 entrance ramp, may close from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., and two lanes from 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights, as needed. FDOT’s project page also allows full overnight closures of University Drive, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for the overhead sign work; the Oct. 16 report does not schedule one this week.

State Road 7 at I-595

On Davie’s eastern edge, FDOT’s State Road 7 project, under way since August 2025, is:

  • Widening the eastbound I-595 exit ramp to northbound State Road 7 from one lane to two, and widening the westbound State Road 84 exit ramp to northbound State Road 7.
  • Permanently reducing northbound State Road 7 from three lanes to two between Oakes Road and Riverland Road, to smooth traffic to and from the interstate.
  • Building a new sidewalk on northbound State Road 7 from Orange Drive to Oakes Road and a shared-use path north of Oakes Road.

This week, northbound State Road 7 from north of Oakes Road to Riverland Road keeps a continuous single-lane closure. One lane in each direction between Riverland Road and Orange Drive may close from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays for retaining wall work, and the outside shoulder of northbound State Road 7 from Orange Drive to Oakes Road may close at the same hours for sidewalk work.
